Doggie Day Camp

Deer Creek Doggie Day Camp opened its doors in 2015 with the idea that there's more to doggie daycare than just warehousing dogs. We knew there was a better way. We wanted to incorporate structured socialization and play into each day here at the Camp. We keep the ratios of dogs (Campers) to humans (Counselors) low to prevent possible issues and our Counselors are highly trained in off-leash dog play, evaluation, and canine behavior and body language.

The Canteen

Snack:

Want your Camper to have a little treat while they are visiting the camp? We've got a variety of fun things for your dog to munch on while he's here.  All treats are given during private time.  Any unfinished treats will be put in dog's cubby or freezer.

Some of the yummy snacks available include Yoghund yogurt, a West Paw Tux or Tizzi filled with Dogsbutter peanut butter, bully sticks, buffaroos and other assorted natural healthy treats.

Eat:

Treats - We have a great selection of healthy treats and chews in the Busch Pet Products camp store. Owner-provided or purchased treats will be given during quiet time for no additional charge.

Food - If you dog is on a special diet or needs a midday meal, we are happy to feed him his owner-provided food at no additional charge.

Note: If you are looking for a new, healthier food, we feed and recommend NutriSource and Fromm Family Foods.

Requirements

We require all dogs to be currently vaccinated, neutered or spayed at the age of six months (unless enrolled in our Puppy Pow Wow program), and must complete a two-part Compatibility Evaluation before any daycare reservations can be made.

Vaccinations:
To ensure the safety of your pet and others, we require the following:

  • DHLPP (canine) - current within one year
  • Rabies - current within 1 year (3 year shot accepted)
  • Bordetella (kennel cough) - current within 1 year

We ask you to provide a copy of your shot records from your veterinarian for our files.

Compatibility Evaluation:

This two-part test will allow us to evaluate your dog's play style and temperament so we can place him with other Campers with similar personalities and activity levels.

In part one, we want to get to know the owner's desires and expectations as well as identify any immediate special needs or concerns with the prospective Camper. This will take around 30 minutes and the owner should plan on staying while this takes place.

In part two, your dog will return to the camp for a free half-day evaluation. We will place your dog into the playgroup that we feel is a good fit. Once we introduce your dog into the play area we are initially looking for any aggressive behavior towards the other Campers or Counselors. In addition we are looking for general personality characteristics, such as separation anxiety, timidness, toy aggression, level of playing, and so on.

Evaluation checklist (no charge):

Step 1:
Download and complete the Application and Release/Waiver form (links above), then call to schedule an Initial Evaluation

Step 2:

Frequently Asked Questions

For your first part (Step Two) of the Compatibility Evaluation, please bring your dog's shot records. During this initial evaluation, you will be asked to complete a more comprehensive survey on your dog(s). Shots can be emailed directly to the Camp or brought in. All Campers should be brought to Camp on a leash.

We kindly request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Although cancellations do not incur a fee, we reserve the right to require prepayment for future reservations.

For new Campers: contact us directly. All new reservations must be confirmed by telephone or in person. Our reservation desk will be happy to discuss all of the options Deer Creek has to offer!

For existing Campers: you can now request reservations here and a confirmation will be emailed to you

You can certainly come and visit our facility anytime during regular business hours. Our welcoming staff will be delighted to take you on an informative tour of the public areas at Deer Creek. If at all possible, please call ahead so we ensure a staff member is available to answer all your questions.

If your dog comes once a week, it is suggested to keep to that day. This helps the dog’s comfort level with their dog buddies. Established clients are welcome to check with us on any given day and if we are not at capacity, we will accept your already experienced Camper.

We do not offer drop in service for dogs that are not current clients. Our focus is on providing a consistent environment for the dogs, as they are most comfortable with familiar dogs and staff. New dogs can take up to a full day to integrate into daycare so a long-term and consistent commitment is best.
